Metti (Toe Ring) Facts!!!

                            Facts about the toe Ring!!

We often see toe rings on the second toe of married women in India,Some chose to wear them even on the third toe.I have seen even some college going (unmarried)girls in Chennai wear them .They are made in silver,Gold and even fancy enameled ones with designs and stones embedded.
As a child I have seen my Mum and aunts wear them, but never questioned them as to why they wore them.
Out of my own curiosity, i did  a little bit of a research online and found these facts. After knowing about their benefits i started wearing them myself.Been wearing them since three years and will continue to do so...These facts,I just wanted to share with all my friends.

In the olden days, Toe Rings wear worn by married men and later on women started wearing it after their marriage. In the olden days, people were used to walking bare- footed and thus wearing a silver toe ring was believed to transmit the energy absorbed(from the earth) by the silver metal directly to the body.

The toe rings were usually made of silver in the olden days as Gold was considered By the Hindus as a Godly metal so Gold was not worn on foot.

According to the Vedas and reflexology texts, applying pressure to these points on the toes, helps in regulating the menstrual cycle in women and thereby increasing the chances of conception after marriage. It also keeps the uterus healthy by ensuring better blood circulation.

In south India when a woman wears a toe ring,it signifies that she is married and thus prevents unnecessary attention from other men.

The toe ring,in my opinion definitely adds an extra feminine touch to your foot.

Wearing a toe ring Isn't just traditional .... it has the above mentioned benefits so married women try wearing them and you ll never want to remove them at all!!!
